Trip To Botanic Garden

Today the whole Ruapotaka School went to a very beautiful place called the Botanic Gardens.

The Gardens is about native plants and the environment like pond, flower, rocks and trees. It was pretty fun but the only thing I didn't like was the hot sun.

It was too sunny that I felt like drinking a whole bottle of water.

My favourite part was when we had to go in the forest. It was shady and it was nice and cold in the forest because of the trees. That's why the forest was my favourite place to visit.

Anzac Ceremony

On the last day of Term One, after lunch we had an Anzac Ceremony at our school for the soldiers that went to war for us to live. At the Ceremony people read some poems and some people talked about the soldiers.

After all those poems and talking, we all had to stand up and sing the National Anthem.

When we finished the Anzac Ceremony, we all had to go back to our classroom because the bell was going to ring and we all had to go home. Then one minute later the bell rang.  It is time for us to go home and enjoy our holiday so we all said good bye and we went home happily.

Buddy Reading With Room 7

Last week on Wednesday afternoon Room 12 had to get ready for buddy reading with Room 7. We have to choose a book so we can read it to them and I chose a book call Matariki. Matariki is about the Seven Sisters or stars that come out on Maori New Year. All of a sudden Room 7 was in front of our classroom door waiting for us.  So our teacher let them in. Room 7 have to get a buddy from Room 12 and someone picked me so I have to read to them. After we all finished Mrs Golder and Ms Riley told us to pack up and get our bag because the bell was  going to ring. Then the bell rsng so we all went home.
